Purpose

The awards give recognition to origional and innovative designs, prototypes and products that offer good design solutions to various problems faced by the nation (rural and urban areas). Credit will also be given to prototypes and products that contribute to industrial and/or enterprise development in Botswana.

To lead in cultivating a culture of innovation in Botswana.

To promote, encourage and support inventors and innovators in Botswana.

Objectives

•  To recognize original and innovative prototype as well as products that can diversify the economy.

•  To enhance public awareness and recognition for inventors and innovators.

•  To encourage people particularly youth to venture into areas of science, engineering, technology and innovation (SETI).
