Application for Entry

Please consider the following when describing your design of product:

  • Use of local resources and quality materials
    To what extent did you use local resources and quality materials in manufacturing your product?
  • Appropriateness of technology
    Describe how the product is suitable for its application, e.g. can the
    product be used in areas with a limited infrastructure or no electricity?
  • User-friendliness and ergonomics
    Is your product easy to use and convenient? Briefly explain.
  • Invention/Innovation
    Is your product easy to use and convenient? Briefly explain.
  • Environmental impact
    How environmentally friendly is your product?
    For instance, is your product or the waste generated in its manufacture recyclable?
  • Developmental Benefit
    Does the product contribute to national development? Describe in what way the product raises the standard of living. Does it provide for basic needs, e.g. employment, health care, shelter, water, food, or information/
  • Affordability
    Does your product gurantee value for money?
  • Export potential and adaptability
    Is your product exportable? Can it be easily adapted to meet
    the needs of other communities?
